Hi all,

Recently, I saw this watch pop up for sale. It was clearly a franken given the 165.024 dial and 166.024 caseback. I was intrigued by the case and dial condition and figured I could use the parts to fix up other watches if it was cheap enough, so I bought it.

What do you all think I have here?

I’m a little perplexed by this case. Does it look like a 166.024-67? I am unsure if the midcase matches the caseback or the case is indeed for a 165.024 and the caseback is wrong. Any hunches what the engraved 33 on the caseback might mean? Pity that somebody crudely engraved 33 on the lug.

I wonder if someone stumbled on a NOS or lightly used case at some point and bought and cobbled together the rest. It looks unpolished. The minute, hour hand, and dial seem good but relumed to match. I think the second hand might be a fake.

I’ve bought quite a few of these, but I am certainly not an expert, so I really appreciate any insight. Thanks!
