Genuine Omega Seamaster.
Dial has been redone at some stage.
Calibre 343 was a chronometer rated movement introduced in 1949.
Serial number dates it to 1950 or thereabouts.
Overall in tired condition but could be tidied up with a decent service.
Was there supposed to be a ruby in that red area in the inside of the piece. I took this to a watch shop the other day to see how authentic it was and I’m really hoping they didn’t remove it

Dial to me looks more like original than redone.

How much would a service and restoration be for this piece and would it be worth while to cherish after the fact?
Depends on where you are.
If you're in Albania it'll cost peanuts.
If you're in Zimbabwe it'll probably cost at least twenty cattle.
