Looks like a legitimate UK market watch. "A.L.D" stands for Dennison, the company which made the case under license to Omega.

It has proper 18K English hallmarks, although I can't quite see them in enough detail to pin down a date of manufacture.

If the price is reasonable based on the gold content, then there is little risk here.

    Thanks Gator,
I was told it was the mid fifties. Right below the 18kt stamp is A L D, below that 890, below that 96548.
Paid 800 US whrn converted from Euros.

Good deal for the gold and you got a free original watch with it.

These are good for gold content too, as the ALD cases were much heavier than the Swiss made ones

There is an excellent review of dennison, by Andrew Romaine, and I think it is linked from Desmonds site

He only issue for some is that Dennison didnt put the Omega case reference on the watch back, and its sometimes difficult to ascertain from the OVD which watch it refers to.

Still handsome watch, movement looks clean (is it a 501?), and a lot of gold to boot!

    Well done
