Hi, I've come by this Seiko Panda. Can anyone tell me anything about this model. Is it worth keeping??? Thanks for the help
Whoa, great find. VERY much worth keeping unless it's not your style. Considering the prices they fetch these days... Dial, hands, etc look correct and probably not aftermarket. Movement looks clean-ish based on that photo. Case looks polished and pushers are worn. If you don't want it and it's cheap, you could really do well or pass it on to someone else.
I think it's just a change that happend based on the year. A quick search shows that most of the round/fancy ones I'm seeing are early (1973 serial number), yours is a little later (1976).
I agree with all. My only concern is that the chronograph hand may be a later replacement as usually tend to be orange. The fancy back is more consistent with earlier years. It’s a great watch and a lot of fake dials are out there. Problems with repairing chronograph movement as difficult finding parts... so I was told. Congratulations.
Yes it looks very nice. Can I ask how you came across it. I keep hoping to come across one but all the ones I’ve seen lately have too many replacement parts. I can’t comment if yours is 100% original but it’s certainly a keeper
If you're getting into Seikos you need to go to the best info source and join our pals at the Seiko Citizen forum. They know Seikos inside and out and many there service and can help source rare parts as well.

Found it on j Thanks janice&fre, any good forum you can point me to. I actually started my collection not to long ago with old Omegas purchased from eBay before joining the OF.. Since joining OF, thanks to some of the great members, I learned enough to realize that all my Omegas are what you guys would probably call junk and have since then sold them all off. I haven't really had much luck with Omegas, the most painful was loosing a beautiful Omega seamaster 30 I purchased 6 months ago from Daniel Donkii. It was lost in the mail and never seen again (I am actually still waiting for the insurance money, there seems to be an insurance problem but I trust Daniel to work out). The last Omega as you probably remember I screwed up was sold as well, shame as other than the dial I destroyed it was a beautiful watch. Anyway, like I said I have left Omegas for the meantime and instead picked up different beauties from great guys like the lovely Citizen UNI from Jeff bristnj and a beauty of a KS from Eric efause. I have also a nice gold Zodiac Goldline (I think its actually one of my favorite). I have a very nice Certina DS and a Longines flagship. Although much riskier in my opinion, the best of my collection have come from OF members as you may have noticed.
