Forstner President (1450) Bracelet (without stretchy links) for Speedy

First, let me say I own the 3861 sandwich.....love my Speedy & bought the bracelet variant, but wasn't 100% sold on the polished links ...and at times they are some hot spots when I slip it on the wrist....

I'm a fan of presidential style bracelets....knowing there is no way I will ever own a Day-Date....I've always had my eye on acquiring either the US or Forstner 1450 bracelet.....each have there positives and negatives......

US...the SEL is not as refined as Forstner's........and was not a fan of the stretchy links on Forstner....kinda felt it was gimmicky and gave me flashbacks of wrist hair catching from old late 70s and 80s watch models my father would wear.....

When Forstner offered their 1450 bracelet without the stretchy link....I immediately bought one and slapped it on when it arrived on my doorstep.....the following are some quick first impressions as I wear it around the home.....

Awesome!!!! ....love the look over the OEM 3861 bracelet.....feels more comfortable and silky to slip it on & wear....

Very impressed with the overall fit, quality and finish of the bracelet...exceeded my expectations....milled SEL, links and clasp....links are secured by screws and Forstner even supplied a screwdriver.....SEL is spot on & perfect match/fit to the Speedy's lugs....I love the no stretchy link variant....bracelet feels very robust as it mimics the feel & experience of any other ordinary one that is offered by any brand...

Overall, the oem 3861 bracelet is a tad too fancy鈥ore formal鈥orstner's makes the Speedy more tool-ish (is that a word) for beating the Speedy鈥 get a lot for $185 and a presidential style look to boot...馃槑

If I have to nitpick....I would've preferred the clasp to have a sterile look....perhaps the "JB" branding could be relocated to the inside, but understand why Forstner does it.....lastly, if Forstner can incorporate micro adjustment to the clasp (minimum of two links length) we would be in Nirvana.....

I highly recommend the bracelet and feel free to ask any questions....I'll be posting lots of pics for all to enjoy....

I thought this thread seemed a little D茅j脿 vu

You have already created it 馃榿 馃槜

Though I do appreciate your insight on the 1450 bracelet. I like my OEM 3861 bracelet but I wish it had more size adjustment options. There are a couple aftermarket options that I鈥檇 like but I can鈥檛 narrow in on which, yet. Like you, I wasn鈥檛 a fan of the stretch links and even more so seeing people comment on how they fail. I like the 1450 from Forstners doesn鈥檛 have them but I can鈥檛 quite bring myself to purchase it yet.

Thanks for the review and I wholeheartedly agree, it is a nice AM bracelet. The other downer is the endlink finishing. I created a post on how to dehorn the link. If untreated, it scratches the back side of watch lug.
Installed on an older 861. Closely resembles the 1116 which the watch originally featured.

Thanks for the review. I have a couple Forstner bracelets (Bullet and flat link) and think they鈥檙e very good value. They鈥檙e more expensive than US, but IMO the finish is a cut above and worth the extra $.

I think this doesn't apply to the endlinks for the 3861, which seems different ?

Thank you for pointing that out. Then my advice applies only to 1450 replacements designed for the 1861. Lol

I just ordered one for my 3861. Gotta say the JB logo did it for me. I have many Accutrons and some of their best bracelets were from JC Champion, especially the fantastic Astronaut bullet bracelet.

Have their flat link on my FOIS 1st gen and the bullet (modded to fit the FOIS as well), looking at their new version with the adjustable length on the clasp. Can someone confirm the newest version does not have the stretch links?

I received mine just this last week based on the info that they do not have the stretch links, and I can confirm that they no longer have them. They do have micro adjustments in the clasp also.

Omega wishes they offered this as a factory option. The 3861 bracelet is gorgeous, but not everyone wants to baby their Moonwatch.
I think a lot of Speedy owners would love for Omega to release a modern Presidential bracelet for the Moonwatch....I know I would buy one in a heartbeat for my 3861 sandwich....it's unfortunate the Aqua Terra Shades Presidential bracelet with the micro adjust butterfly clasp is not compatible with the 3861....perhaps Forstner or US can offer end links so it can be used....馃槑馃憤

Can someone measure the width of the last link of the Forstner 1450 bracelet towards the lug / end link? I noticed Forstner sells endlinks for Pre 3861 Speedmasters, 3861 Speedmasters (both are 20 MM lug size) but also for the 1st gen FOIS which is 19 MM lug size. Wondering if they have 2 different bracelets for 20 and 19 MM Speedmasters or the size / configuration of the end link keeps the last link outside of the lug and as such works on both 20 and 19 MM Speedmasters.

Yes I bought it for my 3861. I wanted a more vintage look an it does that nicely.

"Can someone measure the width of the last link of the Forstner 1450 "

Sure here you go. Keep in mind this bracelet is for the 3681 hesalite, others may vary as they have different end links.
