Hi folks! I own a Fostner Mesh Bracelet with "Horned End Pieces" and would like to attach it to my fairly new Speedy. Unfortunately, I don't have the lug protectors that come with the bracelet. Should I buy some protective film prior to attaching the bracelet? I'm not sure if wearing this particular model bracelet without the film would damage or cause unnecessary wear to the lugs?

Thank you in advance for your feedback.

If I remember correctly, the lug protectors are little Kapton circles with a hole punched in the middle. You could make something like that from tape (even Kapton, if you want to be fancy) yourself. Or maybe you could contact Forstner and ask them to send you some (maybe include a return envelope)?

Shout out to Fostner. I sent them an email today and just a few hours later I received a response that they just shipped me a set of replacement lug protectors.

Outstanding customer service!

You don’t want to see the backs of my lugs- we are way past endlink condoms.

Love Foerstner as a company. Have one of the Komfit bracelets on my Straight Writing-69 Speedmaster and installation was easy. Didn't know they had lug protectors, but didn't need them when installing the bracelet.

Described the Komfit bracelet like a metal NATO strap, very comfortable and easy to adjust. Takes a little getting used to but once you do, you will love it. Has a vintage vibe which looks great!

Same here. I respect those who want to keep their watches in tip top shape. That's usually my goal when I get a new watch. But I'm a serial strap and bracelet changer and it doesn't take long before I don't bother taping lugs before making a change.

Kind of funny, last week I received a brand new Fostner Flat Link Bracelet for my Speedy.

The only problem is that I never ordered it. I emailed Fostner to let them know and I shipped it back. (I did purchase and received a Fostner "JB" Mesh Bracelet back in June).
