Sure, here is a screenshot from the service contract. I can send you the full paperwork by PM if needed.

The last part is essential:
Der Kunde ist damit einverstanden, dass er die ersetzten Komponenten nach der Serviceleistung nicht zurückerhält und dass die Komponenten ohne weitere Formalitäten in den Besitz des OMEGA Servicezentrums übergehen.

which translates as
The customer agrees that he will not receive the replaced components back after the service and that the components will become the property of the OMEGA service center without any further formalities.

Boy, is that a step in the wrong direction. Way to do a Rolex, Omega. Count me disappointed.

Maybe to add some context, I brought two watches for service into the Omega boutique in Zurich, one for a warranty check and the other (the 1863 Speedy) for regular service as I bought it used only recently. The SA warned me of the new policy before accepting the watches. Both watches went to Biel for service. I then received the service contract for the 1863 Speedy with these T&C. Both watches returned after 5 weeks without replaced parts.

Obviously, I can't tell if this is only a CH-related thing or if it will spread around the world. I didn't know they would not service them in Zurich, but maybe the service in CH is centralized, who knows? I would suggest everyone be vigilant when servicing watches in official service centers. Ask before committing.

Thanks for posting that - I appreciate it.

I visited the Rolex Boutique today. The only person who said hello and on the way out have a nice day was the security guard.
Which Boutique did you go to?

Just to add on to this; where in the States would I send a Speedy for service?

Vintage or modern? And where are you located?

I thought the Swatch service was only in Seacaucus, NJ?

I’ve had terrible experiences with Rolex and Omega service recently. RUSA completely messed up my service TWICE, and Omega charged for an extra water test just to switch out a ceramic bezel and rather than outright charge me for the bezel insert, they wanted the insert and the metal housing combined. Servicing it’s not the same without Warranty coverage

Omega does not sell just inserts, so they only sell the entire bezel.

The worst thing about Rolex isnt the products, the marketing, the business practices or how their ADs operate, it’s the hysteria surrounding the brand. Both from those who worship the crown and those who can’t stand them.

On one hand, the ridiculously narrow minded view of many WIS and non-WIS who think Rolex is the only watch worth having and everything else is crap. I like watching YouTube, particularly for watch restoration videos and general watch discussion and it’s so frustrating when you have to scroll and scroll to see anything but Rolex, Rolex Rolex. To so many collectors, dealers, bitcoin bros, and general public, Rolex is god tier, far above anything else, even Patek. Most of the talk isn’t even about the watches, it’s the value, and how other perceive you. Makes me a bit sick. The actual watch is almost forgotten about.

Dr. Elinor Greenburg (PhD psychology who specializes in Narcissism/BPD) has written that one very quick way to identify narcissists is that they tend to have a lot of hierarchical behavior- they consistently "rate" things (this is good but that was better and this is best) in all aspects of their lives. I doubt this comes as a shock to anyone here, as I think most of us know at least one person who probably falls into that grand narcissist category who wants the best of everything and shows contempt for things that aren't.

Although not everyone who wears a Rolex is a narcissist, It's absolutely a side-effect of the brand awareness that it attracts a lot of narcissists who have money. This, unfortunately, has a major impact on how people perceive the brand; especially the more modern pieces. And it's not a perception that is going to stop narcissists from wanting to own Rolex; quite the opposite.

Hmmm. I have to give some thought to how I will rate this post compared to all other posts on OF. 😁😁😁

Modern I'd say. I am still waiting to find my best Speedy. I. The buying market just have not bought yet.

If it's modern (i.e. luminova lume and not tritium), there's nothing wrong with sending it to Omega for service and there are some distinct advantages as the flat rate includes replacement of worn movement parts and hands, crystal and crown are also usually replaced too.

This is a very entry-level-luxury reply.
