He's a dealer - https://theoandharris.com/vintage-watch-shop/
Not one that I think I'd give money to.
Just been looking, oh imagine how wonderfully cool we'd all look with these t-shirts...
We'd looks like something beginning with the letter C, but I'm not sure it would be "cool". 😉
Can we please also stop using the term "watch fan"
Uttering the term "watchfam" while in my presence is a sure way to get yourself punched in the mouth. 😡
Sexpile is so much worse than watchfam... although I find the whole "bro culture" irritating.
Ugh, "sexpile" is the absolute worst. Though it's a really good indicator of those who have more money than class
Sexpile? Must admit I've never heard that one, although almost all these things are irritating and the whole use of Fam really pee's me off. Dare I ask what it means?
Thanks, and yep that's awful. No idea what redbar events are either, guess Google is my friend there.
I think you are all missing the point of this vlog post. He's really not talking about the watch but, but that he believes Omega failed to execute a good marketing plan, and did not get enough brand equity value out of it.
I've got to say I agree - without getting too deep into it, just think of all the absolute die hard speedy fans - just on this forum - that think the execution was handed terribly, and are unhappy with the outcome.
I know Christian, and he will be the first to admit that he is not 'everyone's cup of tea' and has a lot to learn about watches still.
However, think about this... he is a millennial - he's one of those kids that us non-millennials complain about all the time ... but he got off his @rse at a very young age, and started a business out of nothing. He is using a marketing medium that he knows a heck of a lot about - social media - to popularize anachronistic mechanical devices that nobody 'needs', to a whole new generation of potential enthusiasts, because he is passionate about them. I think he deserves some plaudits for that.
And I think all of us old fogeys (especially the grey Frenchmen that still run Swiss watch companies ) should try and recognize the message and power of using new technology for effective marketing and sales.... whether you like it or not, it's the future, and it works.
Love him or hate him - nobody including him, really cares .... but don't ignore the real message.
