Glad to see McIntosh gear well represented, both tube and SS.

First picture just ambient light with flash to show the pretty McIntosh lights, then lights on, then back side facing into another room where TT, tuner and most lps are located. Curtain with opaque black liner separates area and allows room to serve as movie/tv room, also. Patio/windows/door behind also with opaque treatments to be used when total darkness is wanted.

McIntosh 30x2 mono amps
McIntosh C33 preamp (C22 in dry dock)
McIntosh MR 78 tuner
Klipsch LaScala (circa 1975) speakers
Sony SACD-S9000ES w/ Modwright tube line stage and separate tube power supply.
OPPO 83 SE Blu-Ray/all format(DVD-Audio!) CD player
Sony SACD-C333ES 5-disc changer (modded)
Technics 1210 M5G w/ Ortofon Black
LG 55” OLED E9 glass display
McIntosh 2255 amp..... for the blue meters, of course!!(and if the 30’s need a stay in dry dock)
Vintage tubes to my taste-15 year experimentation.
Purist Custom power, speaker and RCA interconnects
StillPoints Ultra-Mini

Circa 1955 Chet Baker playing now.

BTW, the breadboards under the TT are a recommendation from Harry Weissfeld. Save up those BB&B coupons.

update

I got very lucky, picked up my C22 from drydock about 6 weeks before lockdown

lots of time breaking in from service work, and enjoying every minute.

Along with cleaning and service I had my guy add a Furutech IEC plus 4 pair Furutech RCA sockets.

The amp went from a Kenwood KR-710 to the original Mission Cyrus 1 to a Kenwood VR-6070 AV amp to the Naim Nait XS.

Streamer/Dac. Rega to Naim Dac V1 to ND5 XS.

Very interesting thread. I see a lot of names that i house, Quad, Nak, Stax, B&O.
I was thinking that the audio boards i have participated in have always had some manufactures contributing DIYAudio being most notable. I realise this is a brand specific forum, but is there such a place for watches?

Nice. Vintage stats still compete very well with the newest stuff made today. I still have my Stax SRD-7 Pro with SR-Lambda and SR-Lambda Nova Signature (and SR-5 Gold). I also have a Woo WEE transformer, and a Cavalli Audio eXstatA tube hybrid amp (need to install new amp boards). My Favorite stats are my Sennheiser HE-60 "Baby Orpheus" with HEV-70 amp.

Did you build your own? Or did Alex commercialise them?

So what are people's thoughts on power cables? I'm a bit curious as to how much of an impact it will make in my system? Any recommendations?

Power cables, special outlets, filters, etc. it's all a bunch of nonsense, smoke and mirrors, b.s. Any decent amplifier's integrated power supply will be able to handle power fluctuations. IMHO.

Here where I live, we have "dirty" power, according to my HVAC guy, explaining why my A/C keeps burning up resisters. Any fancy cable ain't gonna fix that.

Now, that may be why my CD players keep getting fried, but that's a different topic.

I bought an Audioquest Niagara 1200 Power Conditioner about a year ago along with a new power cable to the conditioner, and then new cables to my amp and SACD player. That change made a huge difference in the tightness, grunt and grip but I think that most of that improvement was due to the power conditioner versus the Pangea AC-9 (7 gauge) and Shunyata Venom HC (10 gauge) cables. I'm pretty convinced a good conditioner will clean up a lot of the dirty power that comes out of the wall, and give you solid protection with spikes and surges, but I'm not convinced power cables more than $200 or so make that much difference, at least to my ears. But there are a lot of super expensive cables on the market, so a market exists.

Everything makes a difference. The question is: is your system able to let you hear/appreciate the difference.
When people say things donot make a difference, what they want to say is that they cannot hear the difference in their system.
That being said, my limited experience with power cables is that the system has to be very revealing to make a difference. So for me they are more of a last item to fix thing.

putting on flame suit now.......

Very reasonable position, and one that I agree with. If your system isn't transparent to begin with, power cables aren't going to make a difference at all. If it is extremely transparent, you will hear a difference for sure.
