The Foundation series has been on my reading list for quite a while. Any particular reason the TV adaptation pisses you off @Larry S ?

I agree that Apple TV is worth the sub. Really enjoyed For All Mankind, Ted Lasso, and I’d also recommend Little America - especially episode 2 “The Jaguar”, particularly for anyone enjoying the OF Tennis thread.

whats Wrong with foundation? The first book is 5 short stories that don’t share characters. They did what i expected them to do, and expand the 50 pages of the first story into 8 hours of TV.

I haven't read Foundation, it just wasn't on my radar until I heard about the show a few years back. Once the show was announced I decided not to read the books. I try and approach shows based on books as the way people remember it happening (the tales passed down over the generations), and the books as the "historical facts"... For something like Game of Thrones where I read the books after I watched the season it worked well because I felt like I got most of the exciting parts from the show and then the book filled in all the gaps.

I'll try the same with Foundation.

Yep. My copies are Dead Sea Scrolls fragile, so I can’t really re read them, but the books vanish after episode 1. I think it’s time to revisit Terminus and Arrakis in print. (The Dune Reviews are not encouraging). Same crime as The Hobbit but this Foundaton may still be more watchable.

I`ve watched first two episodes of Foundation and they`re really bombastic you will see 👍
But Isaac`s books are better 😉 but I definitely keep watching!

For The Expanse its so reallistic made I`m addicted to and I hope they do part six!

Maybe if we are lucky someone will postpone this great show because Alcon Entertainment is open for further production based on the books seven to nine (or was it seven of nine 😉).
