Have some more pictures from the last owner that perhaps might teach me a thing or two... Saw that a seller on this forum said his watch had a cal. 565, and i saw that on the innards on his photos... Does that mean my pocketwatch has a cal. 161 from this photo? If so, i might be learning some already. Might there also be a way to see what kind of model the actual watch is? I've tried to search the serial/production number through Omega's official database, but to no avail. :/
I think I found something on the Database: http://www.omegawatches.com/spirit/history/vintage-omegas/vintage-watches-database?ref=14823 Dial is similar, as are the hands. It could be that these were made as late as 1961 (my birth year) with slight changes to the movement and dial. I don't think Omega sold a lot of pocketwatches after WWII. You'd need to get an extract of the archives from Omega to know the whole story: http://www.omegawatches.com/spirit/history/extract-of-the-archives/order-form Hope this helps, gatorcpa Edit - I was able to find some information through Google. There were a number of national railroads that used these watches up through the 1960's...with the updated caliber number of 161.
