Great watch. On the top of my wish list. Was thinking about turning the FOIS into an "Ed White", already got the dial and hands for the modification.

 

What is FOIS?

 

Stands for "First Omega In Space"

This is a numbered edition that came out in 2012. It is to commemorate the first Speedmaster worn in space by astronaut Wally Schirrs in 1962. The watch is patterned after the CK2998-4

Nice didnt know about this watch, looks like the hands are different, long indicies and no professional on the dial. Anything else thats different?

 

The original watch 2998-4 had the same alpha hour and minute hands but the registers were all white baton hands. The FOIS has a silver leaf second register hand and white baton minute/hour register hands. There are other subtle differences but the watch is mostly correct.

 

Also, this considered a pre-moon watch. There was no professional on the dial.
