    Hello.
    I'm new to the forum.
I'm interested in buying a FOIS.
Just curious, how is the decoration in the FOIS or ck2998, for that matter?
I was thinking that because it is a solid back, it would not be decorated like the 3570 moonwatch.
No cote de geneve stripes or so like the 3573.

Well, the omega product description shows movement with no decoration, with plastic stopper? or part in the middle...
    https://www.omegawatches.com/watch-omega-speedmaster-moonwatch-chronograph-39-7-mm-31132403001001

but I got really confused, becausce the Hodinkee review shows us the video with decoration...
With capture from the video, by another guy:
    https://www.hodinkee.com/articles/the-omega-speedmaster-first-omega-in-space
    https://www.watchrepairtalk.com/topic/6133-a-nice-movement-closeup-omega-speedmaster-fois/

so long story short, how is the movement finished in the fois??
Has anyone acutally seen the inside? well i'm sure someone would have seen it...
    anyhow, thanks.

Standard 1861, same as in the video. All 1861 have those machine marks.

The 3573 has a 1863 rhodium with metal brake.

I know, but if you see the third link photo there seem to be more decoration, like geneve stripes.
I believe standard 1861 does not have those stripes, only 1863 do??

Correct, only 1863 has the geneve stripes- 1861 vs 1863:

    Here's a picture I found online of someone's FOIS

So, I don't think the Hodinkee video is showing the FOIS movement. Probably reused an older video they took of 1863.

Around 02:50 in the Hodinkee video they start showing a 1863.

You can also see the metal brake in this shot too, so I think it's not FOIS.

Thanks a lot!! that helped clear out the confusion so much.
It's more difficult to decide now, between the 3573 and the FOIS...

FOIS is an 1861 for sure, and the Hodonkey video is certainly misleading.

Even without decoration the 1861 movement looks nice in my opinion, so putting a sapphire caseback is a good idea
