    Hello everyone!
While observing my flightmasters I realized that the GMT hand may have different length.
It is evident when the hour hand is overlapped to the gmt one.
Here some pics. Both are taken from ref 145.013.
Any of you can document the same?

To my eye it looks like the hour hand is of different lengths, rather than the GMT

Edit. In fact both sets of hour and min hands look slightly different there

    Hi @flqt-9000

Any chance of a front on shot showing the full length of both the hour and minute hands and maybe one without the GMT hand covered by the hour hand.

Here is another pic with the same hand configuration of the orange one. It seems like the hour hand is shorter. @simonsays you are right.

    Flightmaster service hand on left

Speedmaster Mark 2 racing 145.014 on left. The length and width of lume plot looks close but the width of hand slightly narrower on Mark 2.

Hello @omegaswisst thanks for the comparative pics.
I don’t believe the hands are from a mark II.
On the other hand by checking on flightmaster only book, I am almost sure that at page 123 we can observe a dial example with shorter hands (B1 transitional).

You have an eagle eye! Good pickup.

Below is another transitional B1 dial but with the longer hour hand.

And an original looking 145.013 with the shorter hour hand

Maybe there were 2 versions of the hour hand?

@omegaswisst At the end of this discussion I think we got evidence enough to affirm it.

Found another example on page 205 of Flightmaster Only a 145.026 with type B3 3-6-9 Without Dots dial.

I remembered an OF member @ATWG had a new old stock 145.026 with a B1 Transitional dial. It still has the original factory film on the case!
It also has an hour hand similar to your 145.013

I've also noticed with these hour hands the black paint does not come up as far on the hand which tends to accentuate the shorter lume channel.

    ATWG example.

and another 145.026 from OF. Also notice the difference in how far the black paint goes up the minute hand on this and the above example. It appears that differences in how the black paint was applied can be found in both the minute and hour hands on Flightmasters.

Indeed also the minute hand come in two different lenghts. What I noticed is that you can find a short hour hand and a long minute hand in the same dial or viceversa!
