Hi guys, as the cat was asleep very early this morning, I decided to take a walk at the flea-market Les Arcs.

Not cleaned and bought real cheap from an old guy with some Lancos and Junghans! Lovely bakelite JAZ 🥰. All are ticking.
I asked him for some AIRAIN Type 20, but he had not 😁
Nice week end to all at OF.

PS: cleaning the chromed surface: what do you suggest? tooth-paste, smooth car-polish? And the bakelite?

Nice results, I have clock envy.

For the chrome I'd suggest you use a silver polishing cloth, and if needed, some fine metal polish.
The Jaz is bakelite and has a tortoiseshell effect so I'd suggest a mild plastic polish.

An oily soft rag can be ok for chrome. Use a light touch if it is pitted, it can flake off.

The Bayard 8 days is both cool and useful as a desk clock, nice catch.

For chrome and stainless I have always got on well with using bar stewards friend. Just try it on a small out of the way patch first. Also as mentioned be careful if the chrome is thin or damaged (oil sounds a better bet then)
Lovely clock by the way. I am envious in a good way.

I’ve had luck with Simichrome for chrome polishing before- it’s minimally abrasive
