I bought a bag lot in an auction the other day and in it was this manual wind Flagship with an inscription from 1968. Would you please help me identify it? Any info would be greatly appreciated!

I believe that the case is American-made so there is no Longines reference number associated with it. The movement is likely a caliber 285 as seen below. Not terribly collectible, but a nice watch in good condition.

Thank you! Do you think it's worth servicing?

That depends on what you intend to do with it, wear it, put it in a drawer and look at it occasionally, sell it?

.I thought to put into rotation occasionally and to have a vintage Longines. I have about $100 into it I guess considering there were a few other "keepers" in the bag. Are parts still around for these? It's running really fast.

If it's running really fast as you say I'd say a service is probably in order. On the other hand if it's not something you're particularly in love with, then I'd say move it on and not spend the money to have it serviced, because you won't recoup the cost.

It might also be worth hitting it with a demagnetizer (if you have one) before you fully write it off as being unwearable without a service - many watches that find their way into my collection arrive running fast because they are magnetized during shipment.

Having owned one of these some years back I found it to be a very nice watch for not a lot of money.

Thanks I'll try that!
