Please inform the weight of the watch with bracelet as against the Speedmaster Professional. I have read this one is pretty heavier than Speedy Moonwatch. Just trying to pull trigger soon. Any help will be appreciated.

Thread resurrection!

Can the Current Mark II be worn on a Nato? I understand the originals can.

I can't see any reason why they couldn't be, although to be honest I think the MarkII looks bad on a NATO(they're already tall enough and the step in from case edge to strap edge doesn't look good IMO), and I love both the MarkII, and NATO straps.

yeah the chunky mkII (be it modern or re-re) looks just as good on a tapering metal bracelet as it looks so-so on a nato, I agre...

Thanks for your detailed review, I hadn’t really looked at these till now but they seem to offer some worthwhile improvements. Almost makes me want to trade in my FOIS. Great photography by the way.

I'm not gonna lie- for some reason I was never really a fan of the mkII. I don't really know why. Maybe it was because I was just so used to seeing the "moonwatch." But, this thread made me absolutely fall in love with both the original and the re-issue!

Will someone having both, vintage as well as reissue, can compare weight and height of them. I am seriously about to close a deal. Your help will be highly solicited. Regards

I can provide info about my 145.014 tonight if not too late - I cannot help about the modern one though, I'm sorry 😀

Wow, I always thought of the Mark II as the ugly stepsister of the Speedmaster family, but after seeing the photos in this thread (particularly with the orange accents) I must admit it's quite a looker. 👍

The Mk2 Speedmaster racing dial reissue is my grail automatic chronograph now.

It seems that it's semi-discontinued at this time though... Which is disappointing

Ohh very nice. On the USA website it's "Currently Unavailable" and my local Boutique said as much.

yeah, lots of regional differences. The sapphire sandwich on a strap has been unavailable for over two months in the Netherlands but seems to be available elsewhere.

I’m on the same boat I want to buy one for my dad but I noticed it’s sold out and can only find one in grey markets to say the least

It's available with my AD but I'm in double mind as it appears to be thicker than normal Speedmaster. With a height of 15 mm and 185 gram weight, it's an imposing watch. I don't know what to do. Very indecisive...

I also was contemplating but the thickness turned me off, its actually thicker than 15mm.

My hope is that they announce a new slimmer model.

Thank you dear. I was contemplating at night to buy as thickness is one of the characteristics of this solid racing watch. Then I read your post and realised that Panerai, not Omega, is known for such dials. And I already bought a Panerai this year.

Makes sense. There are two things that have prevented me from jumping the gun so far on the reissue - the size/thickness, and the date window.

If you are not hung up on wearing an automatic, have you considered chasing a nice, vintage one instead? Its more reasonably-sized, and it's the "original"... On top of being slightly more affordable, too.

Yes I agree with you entirely.
