Thanks for this nice write up and beautiful photography. Some not so artistic shots of mine, but still can’t decide which one I would choose.

@Longbow are you an AD or do you work for Omega? All three of those bad boys, huh? For an Olympic tribute model, the Mark II version is pretty nice. I've seen it in the metal at my OB.

Excellent review! I don't like the flared bracelet though. It's probably just me but I even stuck an 1171 on my original Mk2. I'd only consider this reissue if it had 20mm lugs and bracelet but it looks like the lugs are 22mm which for me is too wide on a 42mm wide watch, just looks out of proportion to me. Still a lovely looking thing.

Ha ha, my wording was maybe a bit ambiguous. My photos, not my watches and no I’m not an Omega AD.

I like the look of the Rio Mk2 but the lume from the one in the review.

I wish you could get a similar bracelet for the Pro. I’m really atarting to not like the Pro bracelet’s looks. Considering biting the bullet on an 1171.

I absolutely love the reissue, but strangely, the super scratch-sensitive case finishing has put me off buying one so far. „Strangely“, because I have no issues whatsoever wearing my Mark Speedies with the same kind of finish as daily beaters 😕

The lugs are 20mm. They are hidden lugs though so after the end lug the bracelet flares out which I think gives a nicer look and flow from the width of the ends of the case. When I wear my Mark II Co-axial on a strap it does look nice but the transition from case to strap doesn't flow as nicely as it does on the OEM bracelet.

I have minimal scratches and dings on mine after owning it for a year and a half. I think it just comes down to each individual. Me personally, I don't smack my wrists (or any other body parts for that matter) into too many things like walls and door jams, etc. And if I were going to do something that could give a high potential for dings and scratches I take it off. Like if I had to look at my engine on my car...I would take it off. So, if you're like me it'll be fine. If you routinely find yourself smacking your wrists into stuff then you'll scratch the hell out of it.

So is there indeed a way to fit this bracelet to a current Speedy Pro? Anyone know?

Awesome review and amazing photos!

A question: I've seen some reports of the Caliber 3330 having (fixed!)chronograph issues (i.e. not resetting to zero).

Any owner could comment on the subject?

Chronograph not chronometer.
Chronograph=stopwatch function
Chronometer=Accurate watch that has been tested.

I wore one for a while and its a great watch BUT.. the only reason I could find to choose this over a vintage Mark 2 was the automatic movement and date window.

I have not had this problem so far

Same I have no problems either. There is a good bit of write up on the cal 3330 here on the OF and I think the issues with it may have been when it was first released in other Speedmasters and they were the few not the many. It's a good movement.

Unfortunately, it won't fit the Speedy Pro case based on the shape of the end lugs and there is no way to remove that flared link and attach the endlinks to a narrower link to fit 20mm from what I can see.

This one is mine and I love it! The two tone stainless and Sedna gold is striking!

Just ordered mine as a gift to myself for my 50th birthday! These are tough to find! I have to wait 5-6 weeks to get this beauty on my wrist!

Cheers!
