    Hi OF!
I just wanted to share the latest addition to my Omega collection.
I took my first gamble in the vintage Constellation game.

It all started with a local add for a lot of five omega Watches, included was this picture of a Constellation.

What realy cought my eye was the bracelet. More on that later.

Long story short, I met up with the seller and picked it up yesterday.

The case is in great condition, apart from a few nicks here and there. It's super sharp and seems to be untouched. I can live with some signs of age , more so than with an over polished case.
The dial is spotless and the tritium aged in to a very pleasing color.
The 751 movement is clean, quickset functions, but some rotor rub is present and amplitude is low. The seal dissolved into black gue, but that was expected. It will most likely go off to the SPA in a few days to be treated with a full service.

    Now to the bracelet:

It's a 1039 with 10 (or are they counted in pairs? Then 5)springy links which all work. I guess I got realy lucky here. Little to no stretch. Datestamped 3/71.

Here we can see it alongside my 1171 (very rare first execution clasp)

And that brings us to the 516 endlinks ...and how this bracelet ended up on a 19mm lugsize constellation.

In order to make them fit the constellation case someone in the past butchered them up pretty bad.... I'm not even sure if they hold any value at all in this state, which is a real shame. (But was negotiated into the final sales price). I don't feel like spending another 500-700€ on a pair of unmolested 516's to wear this on my 145.022-69, so we'll see where this ends up.

Over all I'm quite happy with this recent addition.

Now I'm looking for bracelet/strap options for the conni. I see them on BOR and riveted bracelets from time to time but don't fancy neither of those. Is there a "relatively" cheap original bracelet/endlinks solution?

Thanks also goes out to Desmond aka @mondodec for his superb blog on constellations and the help he provided to me as a conni newby!

    Have a nice day OFfam!

    Cheers,
    Max

    Very nice pickup!

    I can recommend fine mesh/milanese bracelets for C-cases :)

Thanks! Is there a mesh combination that came with end links or will there be a noticeable gap between the case and the Mesh/Springbars?

Most common and likely affordable bracelet for the C case is the 1040 with 518 ends.

It will have a noticable gap... Posted a photo in a recent C-case thread of my previous one.

    Thanks guys!

That brick bracelet looks quite nice! In some sort of kneejerk reaction I ordered a brown calf suede strap for it yesterday. Let's see how this plays out.
All my watches are on bracelets or NATO's so a nice leather strap was missing.

@harrymai86 ouch! Where did your no.6's originated from?

    Cheers,

    Max
