·If you’re buying your one and only watch, an automatic definitely makes sense, but as (at least) the fourth Omega in your collection, you’d be surprised how much sense a manual makes.
Even ignoring the history and the argument about if automatic Speedmasters are really Moonwatches, it’s easy to keep a manual wound without wearing it so it’s always ready to go. Also, no date, so quick to set from scratch anyway.
I don’t know if any single improvement found in the newest models is worth £1k, but in combination, absolutely. You’ll also benefit from a brand new watch with a long warranty.
If you’re considering going smaller than the standard manual Moonwatch, the Dark Side, etc autos are off the table.
I’d definitely try the new Hesalite on bracelet first and go from there.
