I'm finding myself looking at speedies all the time. It's not a model I would have chosen when I got my first "nice" watch. Not to say I don't love my AT but I think if I'd been on the forum beforehand, I would have chosen a new Speedie. As much as I admire the enthusiasm for original Speedies, I have to be honest and say I would like it to look in good condition, ie no sctratches if possible other than those which I will inevitably add myself. My other requirement would be that it's an auto. So being I have already an expensive (for me) watch and this isn't really something I should be looking at, what sort of budget would I need to get a clean(ish) auto Speedie? What is the starting price I will be looking at; I don't mind age. Can anyone give me some guide prices and possibly some models to look for please. I absolutely love the 57, but i know that is out of my league right now. Cos
maybe @Robert-Jan could update the Fratello price guide at http://www.fratellowatches.com/speedmaster-price-guide/
A regular Speedmaster Reduced can be had for $1500 or less in very good condition. You can also find Speedmasters 57 on the used or grey market for around $4000 I think
