While that's a good site overall, it doesn't give you all the details. Omega lists the 1155 as a 25 jewel movement, at least on the tech guides on the Extranet currently.

I did a further search on Bidfun/Ranfft

http://www.ranfft.de/cgi-bin/bidfun-db.cgi?10&ranfft&&2uswk&Omega_1155 - 17 jewels (25 jewels since 1995)

http://www.ranfft.de/cgi-bin/bidfun-db.cgi?10&ranfft&&2uswk&Omega_1152 - 25 jewels

So it's possible that the number of jewels in a 1155 could be different depending on when manufactured? Given Omega's penchant for giving calibres new numbers, even sometimes for minimal/cosmetic changes, it seems strange, but with Omega you never know 馃槈

In general I suggest taking Ranfft with a large grain of salt, as lots of information there is incorrect.

Having said that, as I've said already I'm not saying this isn't possible, but it must have been very early if so, and I can find no Omega documentation that supports this. Once again I'll point out that the shape of the chronograph bridge is also not the same...I've never seen an Omega based 7750 with that shape of bridge. Doesn't prove that it's not Omega, but again not normal in my experience.

But as you say, never say never with Omega.
