I have visited Omega boutique in Jakarta. They say they didn't get allocation and no pre-order available , not even one.
Does anyone know whether this is limited edition or numbered edition?

Mate I honestly think the Darkside is going to be one of those rare watches that ends up selling on the secondary market for a premium over retail price, the local Omega ADs and boutiques here are struggling to get ANY allocated to them. I am seriously tempted to put a couple pre-orders in myself...

Is this your first Omega, or do you have a few others in the collection?

Given the retail price is about three times as much as a standard Moonwatch, there would have to be an awful lot of demand for that to happen. I think it could happen, but am a little sceptical at the minute.

The most likely situation is that prices will temporarily spike when the first ones are out, as early purchasers are able to sell on the first orders that are filled. Longer term I'm not sure if a higher price could be sustained. A lot of desirable LE's are having difficulty commanding their original prices, or much of an extra premium except in a small number of cases like the 500 piece Soyuz. I suppose it takes us back to the whole "watches are not an investment" discussion...

True its a rather rare occurrence the only Omega that did that over its life recently I can think of is probably that Liquid Metal Calibre 2500 which was limited under 2000 and then sold slowly by allocation at boutiques.

Nice cross section! Definitely in the right place then, be cool to make a new thread with some albatross pics, that's one very unique Seamaster.

I think the Dark Side will have a selling point much like the liquidmetal chrono when it first came out. Close to retail and over time fall down in price as used models and resellers create more opportunity. The watch being all dark and ceramic all over is going to be a huge selling point as even non watch enthusiasts such as ourselves will be drawn to it.

I've tried to order one of these in Melbourne, AUS, no stock until Nov-Dec unable to place deposit on order, I am No.1 on the waiting list though. Have been told the price is $14,075 AUS Dollars. Have been told that they are not a limited edition and plenty will be available.

Ctime3 where did you read this price from that you quote?

The Australian price is always likely to be higher, your quite is right on what I've been told.

Yeah, I'm happy with the price, not happy with waiting so long before they come out.

Wow there is arbitrage opportunity here. German and Australian price difference is more than 25%......... I guess it is because of tax effect?
