Holy smokes fellas, this is kind of a big deal for me as it's the first Omega stamped item I've ever bought.

So some context, I turn 30 this time next year and I intend to treat myself to a 145.012/145.022 Speedmaster (Depending on funds raised between now and then).

It seems kind of mad, but I just came across a 1035 bracelet which I intend on adding to my future watch. (It's been a hard decision finding the right JB Champion or 1035/1039)
Anyhow, I took a gamble, made an offer, and it now looks like it's mine! Pretty ecstatic, and it's definitely a strange way to get to the watch I really want but we've all gotta start somewhere right?

Can't wait to have it in my hands in a few days!

    Cheers all, happy time keeping!

    Congrats!

Omegastar’s point is that the 1035 is seen as correct for certain 19MM lug width speedmasters, the 1039 has wider links at the end and better fits the 20MM 145.012/145.022

Are the links on a 1035/1039 the same size?

A set of 516s and it should fit on a 145 at least, no?

Hmmmm. So you bought a 19mm 1035 from 1971 and you're looking to match it to a future 145.012/145.022?
    It's the wrong bracelet...

You will need a 1039 with 516 end links so the watch is "Correct". But you got it at a decent price so you can always re-sell it and even make a couple of bucks on the way..

Ed White!? Ha! Not in my lifetime at those prices :D

I thought the 1035 mated with 516 links would get me to the 20mm needed, and whilst perhaps not correct, gets me to the right look.

Oh well, looks like I've gotten myself into parts collection/hoarding side of things, was bound to start at somewhere. And as has been mentioned, I think this is something that can easily be flipped :)

Well 506 endlinks are hard to come by but you can resell the 1035 and look for the 1039/516 combo. But for me you should try to get a whole watch :)

Hahah, I’m in a similar boat, I bought a Seamaster for $300 that had a 1035 stamped 1/68 a little over a year ago. I keep telling myself I need to list it to pay for some of the other watches I’ve purchased... I keep putting it off, thinking I’ll find something special that goes with it, or maybe I’ll trade it for part of a really crappy Speedmaster lol. I have a feeling it’ll be in my watch box for the next few years.

    Good luck with your hunt!

Yep, it was kind of a spur of the moment thing with a really cheap bracelet, we'll see what happens when it arrive in a few days.
Good thing about accessories like that is that they're always in demand and can be used to upgrade...

Next thing should be the whole watch ;)

Cheers everyone for the input, will post photos when it arrives!

Buying a bracelet before the watch...interesting.

But if it is a good deal, why not? Happy hunting for the 145.022/145.012. Better pick one up soon considering SP101.com just revised the price chart.

Crap, didn't see that, I hope it wasn't a mad adjustment. I wonder what influences these sorts of things, demand/inflation etc? I've given myself around 365 days (time between saving and my 30th Birthday).

It is a weird way of doing it, I agree, but it was crazy cheap and I thought accessorising might be a strategy. You're right though, should just save for the big ticket item, then worry about all the other stuff at a later date.

I don't see how £600 for a 1035 bracelet without endlinks for a watch you don't have is crazy cheap.
Personally I'd sell it immediately to allow me to buy the actual watch quicker.

Forget it, I solved the mystery myself...
When I clicked on the eBay listing I was always directed to another listing ...
