·This discussion reminds me of one of my initial questions after getting my MkIII actually in hand and seeing the pristine bevels.....how could a Watch, having not seen much “action” have replacement sub dial hands AND pristine screw heads, AND pivots all nice and shiny and unworn?
Well, Zenith May have had a broad/liberal policy on replacements since some/most/all original tubes had workmanship issues or maybe a dealer or two replaced them for their stock only out of purity of heart and traditional honor. We’re only talking about 3-4000 made, so an allotment couldn’t have been too many one would think.
But, also...... it’s not unheard of for manufacturers to use what parts you have to get another unit out the door, especially with bankruptcy nipping at your heels.
Sniff sniff.........
Ahhhhhhhhh, is that fresh baked rationalization I smell or the scent of new knowledge uncovered?
Fun either way.
And excites maybe 100 people worldwide.
Keeps me off the streets and, mostly, out of too much mischief.📖
