Hm, they could do a modern triple calendar moonphase. Maybe call it... the 116062?!

An example of how they screw it up: this is obviously a nod to the two you posted, but is over-done graphically, and clearly lacks the refinement and elegance:

Edit: that being said, maybe the best thing they introduced this year.

My first inclination on the big announcements of Rolex was expected (for collectors of their pieces like myself)......meh....wtf.....how the hell.......etc.....in fact it still is on the skittles/gummi bear YM and that YM2 for example. But I can't deny bringing the SkyDweller to stainless is intriguing me to @ least try it on and after getting past the SeaDweller's departure from its heritage....it might be a very nice wearing watch as I find the 116600 I own a much better weight balanced watch than my 8500 PO that I sold after wearing for a couple hours.....time will tell when I get the chance to try them on. But clearly Omega had me @ hello with the trilogy.

I would say it was a very good year for Omega. In my opinion, they have also received more attention in the media which is not exactly a familiar circumstance.

Keep it up! 馃憤

Yeah, they really messed up that moonphase disk, though. Moonphase is a traditional complication, and there are ways to update it, but not by showing the whole disk and putting a circle above part of it. [emoji849]

This is what a moonphase disk done right looks like:

I think they made an interesting attempt to come up with something new...many moonphase watches to me seem to be boring reissues of the standard blue / gold moonphase dial. They also state they have come up with a mechanism where you "easily" can interpret the lunar cycle both for the northern and southern hemisphere...well I am pretty sure someone could look at the northern cycle and mentally map it to the equivalent southern cycle (its mirror image).

Fair enough...
