·The quest is over.
In 2006 i first got the idea that restoring my dads old Seamaster 300 would be fun. I mean, how hard could it be......? after all the only thing missing was the bezel.......
So my dad gave me his old and battered watch, wishing me "best of luck"
Some of you have read my posts here on the forum and "seen" the hope and the frustration in my writing. Well, it's finally done. After loosing several auctions on E-bay, being on the verge of selling it for parts, Jeremy C. contacted me, not letting me give up. He provided lots of advise and a bezel in good condition. At that point i found myself a giant step closer. Now, all I needed was "some" additional parts I've never heard of, a watchmaker I could trust, and Aldo. A old buddy of mine, recommended Askeland Ur, here in Stavanger, Norway, and their WOSTEP watchmaker Henrik B. Andresen for the job. Couldn't found a better man. He tinkered around with my watch, made it work properly and gave it a good polish on the outside while we waited for the Italian wizard to do his magic. Last friday, January 27th. I picked it up in all its glory. January 29 th., my dad had been dead for four years. My Holy Grail is finally home.
Here's some pic's of both my watch and my dad.
