    The quest is over.
In 2006 i first got the idea that restoring my dads old Seamaster 300 would be fun. I mean, how hard could it be......? after all the only thing missing was the bezel.......
So my dad gave me his old and battered watch, wishing me "best of luck"
Some of you have read my posts here on the forum and "seen" the hope and the frustration in my writing. Well, it's finally done. After loosing several auctions on E-bay, being on the verge of selling it for parts, Jeremy C. contacted me, not letting me give up. He provided lots of advise and a bezel in good condition. At that point i found myself a giant step closer. Now, all I needed was "some" additional parts I've never heard of, a watchmaker I could trust, and Aldo. A old buddy of mine, recommended Askeland Ur, here in Stavanger, Norway, and their WOSTEP watchmaker Henrik B. Andresen for the job. Couldn't found a better man. He tinkered around with my watch, made it work properly and gave it a good polish on the outside while we waited for the Italian wizard to do his magic. Last friday, January 27th. I picked it up in all its glory. January 29 th., my dad had been dead for four years. My Holy Grail is finally home.

Here's some pic's of both my watch and my dad.

Could you, please, tell more about the Aldo part for the bezel. I have the same watch with a bare bezel and he seems the only option.
Congrats on you adventure and its result.

Best thing you can do is to contact him so he know you bezel is on it's way, send by fedEx and wait. It will take time, but it's worth waiting for.
    He does fantastic work.

How long did it take for you ?
Did you ship the whole watch or just the bezel ?
How much did it cost ?
    Did you get messages...

    I waited 14 months
    Shipped only the bezel
    work cost 250 euros
FedEx both ways will cost aprox 60-70 euros
    Customs = 35 euros
Had communication with him prior to sending and got confirmation when bezel arrived in Italy. Then it was quiet..... I knew a year + waiting was to be expected, but i honestly was worried something had happened to him, and asked for any uppdates about him here on the forum. He contacted me within hours and bezel arrived here in Norway a week later.

Base case here is: If you want your bezel restored, Aldo is the only one who does it to perfection. It takes time, but worth both the money and the time.

@Suprapunk being patient paid off! and it turned out as a great looking Seamaster! I'm curious about the year your Dad's photo was taken? Enjoy your grail watch and keep it in the family!

Hi .As far as I know, the photo was taken in '64 or maybe'65'. Diving equiptment bought in '64 after returning from the Gaza strip in UN service.
