    Agree 100% The wire cage was an early attempt which I really should remove as they jump across to the feeder from the support pole. Splashed cash on so called squirrel proof feeders, would have been as well buying myself some new watch straps.

    We learned our lesson two winters ago when my father in law wanted to maintain a bird feeder. Obviously our local squirrels were incensed. So my father in law tried a lot of things. To keep the story short, as my daughter put it at one point: Squirrels 5 : Granddad 0
