So, it took some time but I have finally a full set of the original in. So happy with it.
Now my mid size (which I have with the original and the blue bezel insert) can go for sale. The funny thing is that the mid size by today’s standards is a unisex size....

I always thought that the original was quartz.

Right. Mine of course is not. In the first one it was quartz (2541.80) en then the auto (2531.80) for three films in a row!

Congrats! Wear it in great health.

Mine says hello:
Hi, is this a new dial? Photo seems to imply the original colors on the dots.

Regarding colour, I’ve never seen a tritium lume one yet where the hands and dial age the same. The dials go a nice caramel beige, the hands don’t so much. The reason the second one looks a lot newer is that it’s using Superluminova lume. The change over was late 1997, so a 1997 and for example 1998 Bond SMP will look very different. There is some obvious appeal in the earlier look but wouldn’t it have been great if the hand lume followed suit.

Yes, I am pretty certain mine is from '99.

You might want to edit the title of your thread then.

Maybe not the original Brosnan James Bond watch, but it’s still the one I associate most with him.

How long will parts be available for the old 1120 Bond Seamaster? Mant years since they were discontinued... I guess the movement is rather straight forward but how about dials, hands and bezels for example?

Its not an issue. Omega will service the watch and replace the parts needed and it'll come back looking like new.
