Hi All, after doing a little research for the past couple of weeks, I finally pulled the trigger on my first vintage Speedster as I found a 1968 145.022 transitional piece for a good price here in Japan. Thanks to everyone's excellent information on this site, I was able to educate myself enough to at least know what I was looking for. The bezel and the bracelet are not correct on this so I will have to start the search for those, but I think that's part of the fun anyway. I appreciate anyone's comments. I picked this up for just around $2,900 in Japan.
Hi Nice Watch....and I would say that purchase price was pretty good What's the movement like ? Serviced ? Best - Neil
Movement seems to be good. It was serviced around July last year, they had photos from after the service, seemed quite clean.
Jack Road? No, but it was a small shop inside Nakano Broadway. There are several shops in there including Jack Road and Kame Kichi. This was in a small shop without a lot of stock and the guy working there didn't really seem to know that much about watches and didn't really seem to know much about what he had so I could haggle him down.
They are located in a little shopping center called "Nakano Broadway" near Nakano Station in Tokyo. Here is the website. http://www.nbw.jp/index_e.html
