I haven't posted here in a while, but I recently won an auction for a watch I've been wanting for a while. After a bit of crystal polishing she'll look like new! What do you fellas think? Can't wait till it arrives![IMG]

I had one. A lovely thing to behold but not something I wore all that often as the bling factor is off the scale. Lovely blue sparkle dial though. The case on that looks sharp. It would have had a radial (sunburst) brush originally and in your case possibly still does. Be careful with the lapis or Aventurine or whatever it is, it can crack when the hands are removed, I’ve seen several with cracked centres.

Thanks. It was one of those watches where you fall in-love at first sight. I saw someone post one of these and thought it looked like a million bucks. There are a couple of really nice variations as well, but this one is just simply stunning to me.

I kind of think appreciating a watch like this is akin to secretly loving Barry Manilow... nobody admits to it but when Mandy comes on in the car we end up singing at the top of our lungs.

Enjoy the dirty pleasure and rock that gilded beast with pride!

Oh, and if we start a dirty pleasure watch thread, I’ll post my smurf blue Benrus on 60’s striped faceted Expandro bracelet...that takes some serious balls, or a sense of humor to wear

I wish brands were this daring nowadays. This looks a gem piece and whilst a tad garish for my taste I can see it bringing you alot of joy, especially with that hummer movement.

It’s kind of like a white linen suit and white fedora, no I would never rock that look, but I can appreciate someone who can.

Not a watch I would wear but I like it all the same. Very 70's and cool.

Pictures can not capture the true rediculousness of this watch- it is so tacky it’s beautiful. Sure I could have put the Benrus on a tan strap and had a decently daring color combo, but I decided to really lean into it and go with the full 60’s sparkle.

@Anj - you could do a modest tan or brown strap and try to keep that thing tamed and muted, or you could track down one of those gold nugget style bracelets and let its freak flag fly. Perhaps a gold rope style. If you go whole hog, you should change your screen name to Huggy Bear
In all seriousness, it’s a cool watch and a bold move from Omega. As Rolex was still beating their oyster thing to death with linen and burlap dials, Omega clearly decided to go big or go home. It’s what the 70’s was all about.
