Hello, been creeping around the forum for the better part of a year trying to soak up as much information as possible, and admiring every ones watches. I have always been interested in watches and more specifically Omega. Not going to lie discovered them while enjoying my other interest James Bond movies. Stupid product placement. I went into last year planning on getting a dark side of the moon and learning everything about it, and then back in December i stumbled across the Speedmaster '57. Immediately both my wife and I went yes to that one. After learning about the boutiques, versus AD's and grey market things I finally went into an AD here in DFW and finally got one.
Great watch! And thanks for your first post not being another, "how much is my uncle's watch worth" post!
I love this watch. Been ogling for a while now. I'd love it more if it was a manual wind. Am I being too much of a purist here?
Gorgeous. was very tempted to buy one recently but had to restrain myself. Well over my watch quota for the year. Hope to add 57 in the near future.
I'm not much of a chronograph fan, but if I ever to get one, it would be a Speedmaster, and since I love the straight lugs and broad arrow hour hand, I think this would be the very same model I would get....nice, VERY NICE choice! Perhaps If the Railaster reissue doesn't happen next year, I might have to add a Speedster 57 to the lineup!
No, you're not...I total agree....that nice hefty winding crown is so inviting for a daily wind...but it's otherwise so close to the perfect Speedy in my book.
Congrats on a beautiful watch. I've been eyeing it at the OB, but have yet to try it on. Not ready to take that step, because the next one would be to pull out my wallet.
