This thread makes me want to write more...

About the only time I use mine is filling out the immigration forms on the airplane.

Airplane can't fly until the paperwork weighs as much as the fuel load!

I know I’ve posted my trio of Retro51 ‘Space Race’ LE Tornados elsewhere on here before but hey, it’s an opportunity to get them out of their little cardboard tubes. Mercury has red ink, Gemini green, Apollo black. I’m a teacher and we all have to adhere to barking-mad marking policies whereby different colours determine different feedback. It’s a pain in the arse, but somehow being able to use these to do it every day makes it more bearable. They aren’t getting much use as I’m delivering online these days, but that won’t stop me ordering the new Space Shuttle model in due course...

These write magnificently. Had never heard of them until an Air Force Major recommended them to me.

Like many of you, I have quite a few in the stable, but the 2 I reach for the most now are:

Visconti Homo Sapiens steel age RB - the modern equivalent (imo) to ebonite. Warm and matte feel, hygroscopic, and just a neat material. (Pic borrowed from the web)

The other is my newest. After an absence of 20+ years, I've returned to FPs. A Pilot Custom 74 with a one-off ishime urushi application.

Here’s what I write with. The Pilot Acroball 1000 is just wonderful.
The GraphGear 1000 is the best pencil I have ever used. If you tell me that Pilot Acroball 1000 is its pen equivalent I will buy one right now.

Close. I bought a pack of .5mm refills for the Acroball and it writes like a dream, but it's pretty smooth in my hand and doesn't feel quite as perfect as the pencil. For the price though, it's hard to beat.

I see that there are a few different Roady in stock right now, but none with the really cool anodized clips unfortunately. I'm definitely kicking around getting one in purple, but a multicolor clip would definitely push that over the top.

My EDC is a Pentel 0.7mm too. 3B or 4B lead so anyone who tries to "borrow" it can't write without breaking the lead 😎

Buuut I also have (or had, haven't used them in 40 years) a full set of Rotring draughting pens from the days of doing power-station steelwork. Pencil first then ink on Mylar was the routine for the final drawing. And a scalpel in the desk drawer for scraping the ink off if the drawing needed revising when damn cable-tray jockeys somehow got their drawings approved first.

Absolutely hate ballpoints.

Nice pens in here!!

I have multiple, and on the rare occasion I actually go somewhere it depends on where I am going. For work I take either a Schon or TT if going into the field, or o grab something that presents a bit better for the office, such as a MB or Diplomat.

Working from home though, my EDC is a Cross I received as a gift during a trip to Denmark years ago. Nothing fancy, but definitely familiar and comfortable

They are a nice pen, i still want a ICEE.
Beware - The snap of the magnetic lid is quite a addictive fidget item. 😉
