Having used a old Parker for years and nearly loosing it several times a month to a Vessel Master that doesn’t have a pen.

I have gone to a lime green strategy that has seen less pen theft attempts by those annoying don’t carry a pen types.

This has been my last few years carry.

Being able to claim a pen on tax each year I usually buy a new one every January.

The more casual WFH rotation, but some old time favorites in there echoing the statements of others.

Fun fact: Russian cosmonauts just used a pencil to solve this "problem"!! 😗

iirc, this is actually a bit of a myth. NASA also used standard pencils and mechanical pencils (like the Garland) in the early stages of spaceflight (along with pseudo-crayons). When the AG-7 proved itself as reliable in space, even the Russians purchased ~100 pens and ~1,000 cartridges.

My handiest pocket pen is this old 5” Cross, not sure on the model.

Which reminds me, I need to find a refill and change over to blue if possible (if I can source a replacement 👎)

Got an original Fisher Space Pen (looks like the Omega branded bullet model above) that I've been carrying for something like forty years. It's actually older than that as it was a Christmas gift from my parents. The Christmas after they landed on the moon. (Apollo 11, not my parents).

I also have an original Space Pen, but the retractable version. But it's a model I've never been able to find.

It has a top button instead of the side button like the AG7. Similar to the AG7 204 model, but with a clip on the side, like the CH4 version.

Anyone here have an intimate knowledge of pens from Fischer or the full model range from the beginning?

Do you have one of the AG7s below??

I do indeed. It lives in my flight bag. You know, in case I'm cleared for an unrestricted climb and need to write in the vacuum of space.

It's a very comfortable pen, has great weight to it. And it's timelessly classy

I haven't actually carried a pen in decades. I use a Lamy Safari set for work purposes. Ballpoint or pencil for notes or scribbles, fountain pen with red ink for editing.

I like older American-made Parkers- something to hunt for if I'm at a garage sale, along with old Rolexes... Hah! I also like Kaweco brass pens, and would get the steel versions if they ever come down in price. Rotring is also very nice. As a lefty, I can't use a fountain pen, thankfully, though I do own a few. Yard-O-Led is also sweet but very traditional...

This thread makes me want to write more. But I wouldn't even know what to write about. Probably something aviation related. Now, what I really wish is that I was artistic enough to make cool sketches. But my stick figures have scoliosis

They surely form a great pair together.
I only recently got the Lamy 2000 (medium nib) and I am quite impressed by the quality vs. price. Great pen!
