I've been wanting to add a Speedmaster to the collection and I finally got one. Today I received a Speedmaster Racing with the Opaline silver dial. I loved this watch the first time I tried it on last year. It checks all the right boxes for me and I'm loving it. It fits comfortably and the little details in the dial really make this watch. Mine came in the wooden Omega box which is nice by itself. This is my fourth Omega and it really helps round out the collection for me. On to the pics!

Well at the Golf IV the letters "GTI" were only an Equipment Code and had nothing to do with a sportive Engine ... but the Golf/Rabbit IV was a really nice and qualitative high class car, except the things that have been done with the car from Tuning Boys, like a "boost gauge"

Sorry, i like the VW Golf very much, but i am not a fan of such a Tuning at all...
But for racing you have now your Speedy Racing, thats a real nice watch, i like her a lot
    Congrats to that nice choice.

    Best Regards,
    Hans

If you pump up the boost a bit and/or remap it smartly, any turbocharged car car easily do a LOT more than what was planned by the factory. Having a boost gauge on there is useful as it allows you to see how hard the blower is force-feeding the induction... If you think it's just for looks, you're probably missing the point. And even if it were, I find the above intervention needlessly judgemental anyway.

Paul - not necessarily a Golf IV lover, but to each his own ;)

And, btw, my speedy MkII Racing in front of the boost gauge of my '08 STi says hi :)

Congrats on a fine watch. I can say this truthfully as I have the same Speedmaster Racing. Same dial, very legible and excellent timekeeper. Have had mine for a couple of years. Enjoy.

Not sure what you're getting at with GTI only being an equipment code...it came with sport-tuned suspension, bigger brakes, bigger wheels, and the turbocharged 1.8T engine also found in the Audi TT. Also, are you knocking my boost gauge? I've done a bit more than just add a boost gauge to the car. The boost gauge comes in handy since I'm running twice the amount of boost over the stock output. Your reply was a very weird one, bud. I'd appreciate if you took your snobbish remarks elsewhere, pal. This is a watch forum, after all ;)

Thanks! Nice Speedy and nice STI! I've always liked the boxer engines and that distinctive rumble.

Well sorry, it wasn`t meant that negative or critical as you all saw my post, sorry if i took the wrong words!

I really like the Golf4 GTI because it looks great with all the equipment code extras. The only thing I wanted
to say is that i am not a fan of your boost gauge, because i think a car like that dont need that at all and that
you have now a nice watch too that fits perfekt to the car :)

Welcome in the OMEGA Forum and have fun!

    Best Regards,
    Hans
