I've had this watch for a few months now and I'm finally finding some time to post a few pics to share in my excitement. I've been looking for a Heuer Camaro 73443 with Exotic dial for about 3 years now (good thing I love the hunt). Perseverance finally paid off. The watch itself is in amazing condition. Case is sharp, exotic dial is brilliant and the lume on the hands and dial plots all seem to be in great shape. Plus it came with paperwork, first time I've had paperwork for any of my vintage pieces. I'm looking for some straps suggestions. Please feel free if you have something in mind. Thanks for looking
Damn that is a good looking watch! I'm usually not a big fan of 70's pillow cases but this is just perfect.
Well done! A beautiful example. (and Dibs btw...love the date model) For strap suggestions, I've also liked a nice carmel colored strap as it brings out the color of the lume. My two favorite strap makers are Bulang & Sons and @Heuerville
@CajunTiger - that watch looks great, especially on that strap. Nice choice. I also love the Bulang and Sons straps
Camaro iis my second favorite vintage heuer chronograph after the carrera (manual winding). followed then by the Autavia
Yes @tropicalpatina I also really like the Camaro's and think they are under rated. @Larry S Pillow case certainly isn't for everyone, but I can tell you it's extremely comfortable on the wrist
As a rule I don't like cushion cased watches either; Speedmaster mkii's, early cal11 Carrera's do nothing for me but for some reason the Camaro is different. It seems to fill the space between the 60's and 70's style cases and for me, looks and wears much better in the flesh than comes across in pictures. Actually, scrap that. They're crap, ugly and no-one should buy any. I'll do the honourable thing and take any that members are stuck with
For vintage Heuer I prefer Giuliano straps, but I haven't seen him post in a while so can't be sure he's still active. Worth a shot though.
Thanks @abrod520 I actually reached out to Giuliano last night. @boat2dan - double grain bracelet would be awesome! I'm currently on the hunt!
I will also throw out the @jankoxxx 's straps. I have a 19mm blue Italian Shell Cordovan from him that worked well on my now gone Camaro. These are great watches and yours is in fantastic shape, enjoy!
GREAT heuer exotic dial camaro. I've been slowly collecting these and they are fantastic on the wrist. I actually like a nice milanese mesh bracelet. I think it offsets the lighter dial with darker sub registers. Oh, and if no one else has said this, dibs. Dibs on every single watch in this thread . . .
