My wife wants me to get a new. The struggle is real. Some of you understand.

Tell her it's it's bad luck to buy yourself a wallet. A wallet must come as a gift from outside the household or you risk financial ruin. It's the way it's always been with men's wallets. She didn't know that?

TBH, I'm on your wife's side with this one. (There, I said it, 1st time for everything.) If I pulled that wallet out of my pocket with my wife next to me she wouldn't exactly be happy.
Actually years ago I stopped using traditional wallets that ended up getting stuffed full of papers (mostly things like receipts) and bought myself a thin Secrid wallet like this https://secrid.com/en-global/miniwallet-original-black and haven't looked back. I almost always pay by card so its usefulness to me is clear but it depends how you generally pay for things.

I’m a minimalist wallet guy now as well. Used to always have a big one. When my wife first suggested my current “wallet” I laughed at her. So of course she bought it for me! That was about a decade ago, and now I can’t imagine ever needing anything bigger. It is a slightly earlier, but no bigger, version of this:

I feel your pain. Moulded to the backside after years of carrying in the back pocket it is not something one replaces at an instant. Half the internal linings are likely missing and torn, it all feels so natural in the hand. And the brand name says it all, it's a Relic.👍
I got myself a Bellroy Card Pocket about 5-6 years ago and am impressed with the size and quality and how well it lasts. Room for cards, cash and change and even a small slot for a SIM card. Another member here got me on to it, now passing on the good advice.

I don't see the problem, it's nothing a scissors can't handle. It has miles to go before it needs to sleep.
Why would you toss a perfectly good wallet?

Hmm, I bought this for myself some years ago now and not only did it not bring me financial ruin, it’s still in excellent shape 😁

One of my favorite things about it is that while it looks handsome if normal on the outside, it’s got some funkyness on the inside!

It’s also only one of many leather goods I’ve bought from Property Of over the years. Boy do they make a gorgeous work bag 🥰

I stopped carrying a wallet 5 years ago. Don't even bother with a clip these days... just shove a thin stack of cards (driver license, a CC or 2) in my pocket, and I'm out the door 😀

I highly recommend Chester Mox if you're thinking of downsizing. I bought a "nude" or natural colored one from them in 2012, and it gradually patinaed into a beautifully rich chestnut brown over the course of daily use over a couple years. I often pull it out of the drawer to admire how the leather aged, but don't bother using it anymore because I find all I ever need these days is just 2-3 cards in my pocket on any given day.

The last wallet I got was seven or eight years ago from my wife - a black Mont Blanc wallet.
I hate it BUT it has lasted so well it look barely unused so I just can't throw it away.!!
