Seamaster 2849-8 SC Year: 1958 Cal.: 503 Dial is perfect, so what might look otherwise is caused by the crystal. Rotor bearing is bad and my local Omega certified watchmaker said he might not be able to get original 503 parts from Omega – is there other sources, or what do you guys do? Big logo And thanks to Mike for great help - again Paul
Paul, I sourced a donor cal 505 for a watch that @Archer has - I dont think he wound up using the winding parts. I know the numbers would be wrong, but I from my 505 hunt I think the parts would work.... any good?
A new rotor complete and axle are available from Omega for this movement - pricey, but available. Cheers, Al
Stuart and Tom, very kind of you, thanks. I'll deliver it to the watchmaker next week and if he cant dig up the parts needed, I'll contact you. Again - very kind of you to offer your help Thanks. Paul
Thanks. Well, havent thought much about it yet, but just a black strap, I believe. What other band options did Omega offer for it back then? Pics welcome
I'm not happy with a black strap, I think the smaller cases might need a ss mesh. Something to set off the black dial instead of coordinating with it. Omega had a mesh..... Not sure how it would look with gold markers.
Thanks guys Like the steel a lot - if BOR, the end links is the same as for a Connie 168005, right? Thanks again. Paul
Finally got it back from a full service. Watchmaker was able to find whats needed to fix the rotor, so according to him, it's like new now Havent sourced a steel BOR yet, so for now a black leather band will do Some pics:
