Fendi watches

A friend has asked for my opinion on a Fendi gents wrist watch. I know nothing about the brand. I opened it to find the case contains a bog stock Ronda calibre 785 quartz movement in it. Is the Fendi watch just another example of impressive “window dressing” externally, containing cheap quartz movements? And sold for exorbitant prices?

In the same vein as Armani or Gucci.

Recognisable, established, luxury brands where the value is in the name, not the product.

If it works for them there’s no foul, IMO.

A lady at work once said - and she was serious - that unless a watch face said « Michael Kors » - it wasn’t a watch.

Canuck. Michael Kors is another fashion brand. Your beautiful wife probably knows it and Fendi.

Probably twelve or fifteen years ago now I had a friend who thought that she had a nice watch and showed me a Michael Kors watch. I'd never heard of the brand so I was less impressed than I would have been had she produced a Timex.
