Hello Rolex historians,

can someone give us an exact time line of those Sub dials. I was told that "meter first" is from 1966 till early 70s but till what year exactly ? And what about 'feet first' ? In France, where faking is the norm, one finds Subs from 1978 with meter first dials. The vendors are upset when challenged. 馃榾

joking of course , I trained at Sotheby's - you spend hours searching in catalogues raisonees for works and provenance - which is actually what attracts me to vintage Rolex watches.

"Exact" and "exactly" are not words that we use with vintage Rolex. Study hard, and after a few years, you will appreciate the nuances.

near London, but I do not teach there , it was for my undergraduate degree. Good old Britain before Brexit.
