I learned the hard way, and now I only have the FedEx downtown pack and ship my watches, or have the UPS Store (where I keep a box) pack and ship. So I have their guarantee that it was packed to their standards. It also provides proof of chain of custody, as I take a photo of the watch at their location and film them packing it up.

I had a watch stolen in transit around Christmas last year ($XX,XXX just to put it in perspective) and it wasn't insured because in my mind, nothing ever happened and it was silly (and complicated) to pay the high value insurance amounts through carriers. Really wish I'd known about Parcel Pro prior to that. Signed up for an account the next day and it's fantastic. You're in good hands.
hi all, I dont post on here much but was looking for Parcel Pro claims experience. I shipped a 1675 full set about 10 weeks ago via Parcel Pro/Fedex. I insured the watch but it was stolen. It was overnight shipping and the buyer received a box with no watch inside but only a torn outer Rolex box, the watch box with tag and papers. I filed a claim immediately and it has been over 10 weeks and I am in the appeal process as the claim was denied. The reason? They are saying I did not use a "new" fedex box. I used a large fedex box, packed the watch inside of a medium box that went into large box. taped over the fedex seals with clear tape. The large box was not "used" and they have been giving me the run around to where I now have to get my attorney involved. Just thought I'd share as it has been a nightmare and I have been using Parcel pro for a while.
Yes. No advice needed. They will refund you.
Moral lesson - Loss happens, insure your packages

In 2010 I was shipping a Rolex 1680 to LAWW for service. Shipped USPS Express Insured. The watch was worth $5000 back then. It was head only. USPS lost/stole it at the LA processing facility. USPS told me to pound sand and wouldn't pay out. Lawyer said it would cost $5k to fight the government.
Lesson learned, Parcel Pro member since.
What was their excuse? You paid insurance and the package was never delivered. How do they get around that? I can see them arguing the value of collectible watches but I can’t seem them not paying anything.
