Feature Request: Sale-thread-cost should translate to my currency-

One thing I think might be nice/useful: For-Sale threads require that you choose a currency and list it in that. For someone who IS willing to buy from overseas/etc, it is a bit of a PITA to have to manually translate the money (and in fact, when it is CAD my first thought is usually "whew that is way overpriced!" and hopefully I have a 2nd thought).

It would be nice if we had a rough estimate of what it would be in my local currency. The currency translation could be done either 1x at create/edit of the thread (as money doesn't change enough for me to care), or just do the translation based on a value fetched from somewhere 'ocassionally'.

I might be the only one who enjoys to convert currency. I'll see an international listing and thought: can I afford this? then do my conversion. The answer is almost always "lol".

There's always a glimpse of hope that my $600 USD budget will stretch to cover 12,650,000 yen and a roundtrip flight to Japan to pick up advertised watch.

Please don't take away my Monday routine.

FWIW, the listing header does indicate the currency, which is arguably a good approach given that exchange rates fluctuate and the seller has indicated a preference. Personally, I would like it, because I can quickly screen listings by currency.

FWIW, the listing header does indicate the currency, which is arguably the best approach given that exchange rates fluctuate and the seller has indicated a preference. Personally, I would prefer to keep it as is for my own viewing. That way I can quickly screen listings by currency.
I'm thinking of this from the seller's perspective FWIW. Seeing the 'base' currency is often misleading/scares folks off. My immediate response is:
GBP: urgh, thats like 3:1 now, so this is too expensive.
CAD: woah, what a big number!
EU: oh yeah, but thats EU, so its probably too much anyway.

I am thinking where we have something like:

Code:
$11750CAD

Right now, replace it with something like:

Code:
$11750CAD (~8553 USD)

On the other hand, this has probably saved me from buying more stuff of classifieds, so maybe I'm better off without this 馃榿

If implemented, the approximation needs to be clear so there's no expectation that the final sale price is exactly that. "BuT OF sAiD iT wAs ThIs MuCh AnD tHe SeLlEr Is ScAmMiNg Me FoR mOrE!"

I like it as-is, Erich, because the default allows me to select my local currency. But just because I suggest USD doesn't mean I wouldn't accept EUR or other currency. In fact, I have received EUR for payment and kept it in my Wise account for use later on a trip.

For anyone who might not be familiar with Wise, it's a very convenient system with excellent exchange rates. It even offers a debit card for use when travelling to other countries. I can keep deposits of multiple currencies and easily transfer them. I also setup alerts for exchange rate targets so tracking exchange rates is pretty easy.

Now, if we could fix the sinking dollar I'm on board for that.
