Favre-Leuba V23 racing chronograph

There are some Valjoux 23 Favre-Leuba chronographs for sale on eBay.
I think they have a unique look and have potential as a collectible, at least in my book.



These are probably from ca 1970 when they still used V23 movements. However, I am not sure if this movement was also used in the later 1970s. They come in different color variations. I mostly prefer the blue one.



I have also seen one version that has a different dial and case.
The question is does this dial look redial?

But, it's a bit soft on serifs...

Oh I dunno about that. They look like most other brightly colored markings on original Favre Leubas I've seen.

I think the dial makes sense for the tonneau cases as they both have a later / 70s style to my eye. It feels less congruent in the round case, especially as you point out the font is crisper and everything overall is a bit "too clean". Not to mention the difference in hand set. All together it gives me a bit of pause. I couldn't say if the dial is a redial but it wouldn't surprise me if it didn't begin life in that case.
