One of my brothers and I would get up every morning before school and alternate reading the comics and the sports page (this was in the early to mid-80s). One of us would be laughing at a comic, the other analyzing baseball box scores to see how our favorites did (His: Dale Murphy, mine: Tim Raines.)

I think my all time favorite daily strip was published on Feb. 24, 1992:

I miss the newspaper days. I miss real journalism instead of click-bait articles. Most of all, I miss swapping comics for the sports with my brother at the start of the day.

Snoopy doesn't only belong on subdials. We need more votes for Peanuts.

Dilbert...only because I felt like I was living in it for so many years...

You could always gauge the level of morale by how many Dilbert cartoons were posted on someone's cubilce wall. If one of them was circled, you'd better tiptoe out of there.

I had plenty up, plus a "Daily Dilbert" desk calendar the you ripped a new sheet off every day, plus in later years I signed up to get a Daily Dilbert by email as well.

We are all "moist robots" after all...

Most memorable exchange from "the Wizard of ID" was when the prisoner in the dungeon complained to the guard that for twenty years they had given him one serving of gruel every day, but that day all he was given was "a dish full of dirt". The guard replied, "sorry, I forgot to add the water".
Yes, I so forgot “ The Wizard of ID”... must add to my list. Thanks for reminding me. My favorite was when a Dentist was extracting a tooth and the patient asks, “Is this going to hurt?”, to which the Dentist replies,”My arm tends to cramp up a bit, but, I’ll be ok.”

Far side, followed closely by Calvin and Hobbes.

I am surprised by how few have chosen Far Side. I guess watch guys are a staid and literal group who don't all appreciate the raw silliness of Gary Larson.

For those who do, I hope you are aware that he has started to post some new material on his website in the last few weeks.

I saw that, but don’t think the new digital work he had posted resonated with me.

(Edit: I just saw there is a “Sketchbook” section on his site where you can basically flip through his journals of comic ideas. Now this is something I’m enjoying quite a bit: https://www.thefarside.com/sketchbooks)

I always loved the fact that someone named a flea after Mr. Larson:

My favorite Calvin and Hobbes of all time.

Omg that is so good! I was the best man once and got a calvin and hobbes book as a present. Close to my heart to say the least. I thought i'd seen them all but that was brilliant. So much emotion in a few lines of ink. That should have been etched on a satellite and sent out in space. F***ing brilliant! Thanks for sharing.

Having worked for the federal government for a while Dilbert was my favourite, even though some strips were far too close for comfort - like this one:

My wife is Australian, and sometimes she uses...colourful language we'll say...

When I first saw this strip, I made a copy and gave it to her to put in her office at work...

I grew up reading Calvin and Hobbes, Bloom County, Doonesbury (I still remember reading the book "In Search of Reagan's Brain" when I was probably 8. Guessing I'd get more out of it now), etc.

These days there are more recent comics I prefer more, such as Fowl Language and The Oatmeal. One I enjoyed for a long time, but is no longer being done was the Perry Bible Fellowship, which was just delightfully screwed up 😀

Well, you did ask.

I’ve always loved Viz; Johnny Fartpants, The Fat Slags, Buster Gonad, Sid The Sexist, what’s not to love but maybe you have to be British and like toilet humour.....err sorry everyone, I’ll get my coat.
