    Hi All,
I've just bought a what it looks a brand new full Omega box set, complete with the white cardboard outer box with divider and foam inserts, red leatherette inner box, and user's manual book off eBay. Khmmm...from India. Yep I know, should've been more suspicious about the origins, but hey, you can come across some nice finds there every now and then.
This, however, feels a bit odd. I've only owned old style "big red" Omega boxes before, not this new puffy one, so I can't decide.
The overall quality is just not right. The silver Omega logo is burred, the cushion is loose, the corners are of a poor quality, the outside of the hinge area suffers from cellulitis. The manual booklet cover and back cover pictures are blurry, so is the printed text inside.
    Even boxes are faked?!
    Help please! Thanks a lot

Yes, even boxes are faked. Looks like the same one I got burned on last year. China knockoff. Live and learn.

There is a fake for nearly every watch, component or accessory in the watch world. When such big dollars are changing hands why would you expect the counterfeiters to not cash in. That said, I recently bought a wooden box from a WN seller, and while I suspected from the price that I was getting a replica, it is top notch quality, so I think it is real. He's been doing business over there for years, so perhaps I should have given him the benefit of the doubt.

I was in Singapore and Malaysia last year and Malaysian shops sell the knockoff watches everywhere. Some are crappy, some are really good looking. The boxes are on site and a sticker omega logo is put on the wooden ones while the red boxes have the pressed logo. It takes them all of about 5 minutes to do this.
Malaysia has EVERYTHING counterfeit selling on the streets. NIKE shoes, shirst, Louis Vuitton bags, EVERYTHING... Im sure if you pick up a wife there, she will be fake as well.

Omega boutiques will sell you boxes... Often for less than the eBay fakes.

In the UK, a red box set is £55...

Thanks guys, just like i thought. It helped a lot, claimed a refund (I'm not even sending it back!), reported the seller & each of his watch boxes offered for sale. As soon as i get my money back, i'll leave a big fat negative feedback as well.
@dx009, yes, the silver "Omega" badge is plastic, a very plasticky one indeed.

image.jpeg It's real easy to tell the real boxes from the fakes. Real one is in the middle. :)

Haha :) So true! I have two of those myself, but I got my hands on a beautiful recent Speedy, so I thought a nice new-ish box would suit it more.
