So, usually I trust my own instincts but this one looks so "well" made and I'm more of an omega guy and not realy up to speed wenn it comes to JLC.
    Pics first:
    IMG_5472.JPG IMG_5474.JPG IMG_5475.JPG IMG_5476.JPG IMG_5477.JPG IMG_5478.JPG IMG_5479.JPG IMG_5480.JPG

Please excuse the crappy phone pics, she approached me during coffee brake and that's the best I could do.

My own research of the ref. Number came up dry.

She inherited the watch from her late grandmother. She has the "original"Box plus "papers" (she'll send me pics of those later but I doubt they will be needed).

What realy threw me off was, that she went to our local JLC boutique with the watch and they said that they'll be happy to service it for her?!

So, I'm asking the experts here:

Well made fake that even tricked the sales person at JLC, or am I just to incompetent to successfully search a referenz number on Google of a watch that shouldn't be so hard to find information about?

She's wearing it proudly and I realy don't want to be the bearer of bad news. But I think she should know...

    Thanks in advance,

    Cheers Max

Why do you think it's fake? And what is the ask?

If that's a fake, I'm never ever buying a modern JLC from any source but an AD.

I can find two references to that particular number - one appears to be legitimate, and the other is on a replica website.

Here's the one to the auction, and it is exceedingly sparse on info. I think the real tell here is going to be popping it open and seeing what makes it tick. That will be the real key.

    *Edit*

Obviously @TTG and I share the same google-fu skills

I found the the replica site too, didn't included it in my original post as we don't post replica pages here for good reason but also the site from the auction so I thought I post it here as I was mildly confused.

Yeah @ulackfocus I thought the exact same thing. When this one is a fake and it even came with "original" fake box papers warranty card etc I'm beyond believe. I'll ask her to send me the pics of the other stuff that came with the watch. I just hope her grandma didn't bought this for a lot of money as the original Master Control in RG runs for over 10 grand new....

Thanks for the help guys, guess she should bring it to the JLC boutique again to open it up.

Not sure what you mean by "what is the ask?"

What makes me doubt the originality:

    1. Ref number on the back didn't add up with anything JLC related (except the homepages mentioned above)

    2. can't find a JLC master control with a "T Swiss made T" dial print

    3. The size is under 35mm (guess), can't find a JLC MC under 38mm for sale atm.

    4. Positioning of Hour Indexes is off compared to the lumen dots at 10/11/1/2 ( I don't expect that sluggishnes from JLC).

She's not selling it. As I said, she inherited it from her late grandmother.

This is not some sort of sales post... I'm cleared for the for sales section.

    @pcdubc nice watch thou!

Reference number gets truncated on the case, e.g., the below would be 143.1.60 for yellow gold. 143.2.60 would be the same in pink gold. Mine says 140.8.89 for a 140.840.892.

I'm still trying to figure out exactly when "T SWISS MADE T" appeared on the Master dials. Mine has it from '99 or so. Earlier tritium dials do not, as with the @pcdubc example above.

You have a point on the alignment.

No problem, I think I misinterpreted your comment as well.

Thanks! That's realy helpful info! Didn't know that the ref. numbers get shortened down on the case!

Well maybe she's got the real deal from her grandma after all, I would be happy for her.

The watch doesn't look fake to me at all. Those 4 screws are so easy to remove and you can look at the movement to confirm.

Two things immediately look off to me: the lume dots and the seconds hand (tail's the wrong shape). But there are great fakes out there and I'd hate to call this out based on the one photo of the dial I'm looking at ... it's enough to put me right off if I was looking at it in an auction, for example, but it needs opening to be sure.

I don't get it, how could anyone make such perfect replicas?

Doesn't look like one to me, but some people seem to think it's possible or that there's even any doubt....

If that's a fake, I'm with @ulackfocus, not ever buying a pre-owned modern JLC unless I really trust the seller. I'm guessing the dial marker issue can be attributed to a manufacturing defect, it can happen to the best of them.
