Been offered this one and keen to see what others think is a fair price for it. I've been offered at ~8400usd. Am I being daft? Thanks in advance.
This onePurchases made through these links may earn this site a commission from the eBay Partner Network sold for $8.8k on eBay a couple of days ago. Pretty comparable with correct hands and bracelet, but in worse overall condition. The case on yours looks to have been re-cut, which is something to bear in mind.
The chart needs evidence to change. 105.003's are interesting because while examples in this condition might be around 7-9k the better ones are fetching much more. Good ones are those with original, good to fine condition parts that have been with the watch since new. These go for 15k+ In addition most of the sales recently have been through B&M auctions and they always fetch higher prices than the same watch on eBay.
Cheers for the replies; Yea I always check the price chart, as mentioned though it is "out of date" but space fruitcovered that one. So we're close to agreeing that the price is ballpark for this condition?
I know this is tropical but it seems lower than anticipated. Waters seem turbulent at this time ... or am I imagining things? Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
Personally don't think a thing about it...all the charm is lost and it looks dirty, not even counting the replacement parts. Additionally, the case refinishing adds that disjointed quality that only serves centaurs well. Could work well if done by a professional and if the rest of the watch is in NOS shape but not when adding lipstick to a pig. Sorry if it's harsh but you can snag a great 145.012 for the same price and that seems the but better choice. Cheers, Andrew.
Are the lugs recut? They look pretty thick to me, especially at the ends, where they usually get very narrow. The top sides definitely look brushed, but recut?
My interpretation of the 101 price chart is that yours is pretty much the definition of a 'running' example. I'd say 8k is probably slightly high but not ridiculous. It will take patience and effort to find a similar one for less and by the time you do, prices may have moved upwards again anyway.
+1...Though replacement parts and condition which is not as its top, find one cheaper and in better condition sounds like a bit optimistic..But hey with time and patience you never know...
Funny - beauty is in the eye of the beholder and all, but I personally find that one very attractive. Doesn't matter much to me, because unless I manage to snag one of these from one of the 10 people that still don't know what they are worth, I will never end up owning one.
Thanks all for the honest replies, what we (I) need when we get all ramped up on a particular item. Will keep an eye out, as mentioned a nice 145 for the price.
Edit; He's changed his opinion on listing outside of nz so I'll leave that one to him. Sorry for the confusion r.e this.
