Fair offer on a vintage (1963) Omega constellation?

Looking at the following Chrono posting for a constellation I like
https://www.chrono24.ca/omega/omega-constellation-pie-pan-stahl-gelbgold-34mm--id31879072.htm

The watch seems great overall and claimed serviced / keeping time. There is however a decent amount of wear as you'll see, including cracks on bracelet, markers on dial, etc.

What (if any) is a good offer on this? Its listed C$1500 + C$270 shipping. And it'll be ~20% duties on top.

Happy to add any other info - or if I'm supposed to put photos in here just let me know. New here

Automatic
Pie Pan
Gold Cap
Chronometer
date
Center seconds

Age: ca. 1963

Ref.: 168.005

Diameter: 34 mm (without crown)

- Certificate of authenticity

- box

A very mediocre example at best.

A fair offer on that one is IMHO about €500. Overpolished case, dial damage, missing text, wrong crown.....the only part that's in good shape is the case back.

I'd pass and have a look at the sales forums here....way better quality for the same or less money

I've been keeping an eye but so far not actually seeing this tradeoff. Don't think I've seen a single constellation with date under 2.5K, though they do seem higher quality here usually. See a lot of well priced Speedmasters but I'm looking for a constellation / seamaster / de ville with date

Definitely not an expert on pricing but I really haven't seen much better at this range over the last couple months. Maybe I'm not looking at the right things

That's a very poor example. I just ran a search in the forum listings and found many examples that were much nicer.

That very worn case was not born with that case back. So, value maybe generous at C$ 1000 incl. All taxes and incl. Shipment. Just keep searching.

How would you compare it to this one below? It is obviously in better shape and probably better value overall. I like this one, though generally prefer the constellation dial.

Alternatively this one is also really nice; similar with date would be perfect:

Here's one from the first page of private watch sales: https://omegaforums.net/threads/ss-168-005.169295/

I did see this. It is 2x the price of the one I posted once you convert to CAD + shipping etc. Dial is better, but also shows clear wear and personally I thought I'd want a different bracelet anyways. You would still say its better overall? What makes this one so much better?

It’s 2x the price but 10x the watch.
I wouldn’t say that dial shows clear wear. In fact I’d say it was very good. The two watches are leagues apart;
One is overpolished, with an unattractive and damaged dial, wrong crown, no bracelet and no movement pictures (given the state of the rest of the watch I’d expect the movement to be poor-average at best).
The other appears original with a relatively good case, lovely dial, original bracelet and good movement.

And a very well respected member of this forum is the seller. This alone makes it the hands down winner between the two for me.

The difference between a really nice dial and a so so/bad dial can easily be 25-50 percent of the value depending on reference, pie-pans being on the higher end of this.

Moreover, the 2x price estimate appears to be exaggerated, especially because of the price gouging involved in the shipping of the OP watch.

Once again, please post photos, not links. No one here wants to have to open links to answer your questions.

I'm trying to learn that's why I'm asking here. That said I do want one that I also like stylistically (dial and bracelet). Anyways I'll keep looking since feedback on this one is clearly bad haha and though the one someone looked is good quality, I would want to replace the bracelet anyways

Also. Shipping is quite high, but don’t know who he is using.

Canada Post Express insured is about $45 or so with $1000 insured value. Add $1.00 (based on last use) for each addition $100

His price may be by courier. I never use them. Automatic brokerage fee

Also, it's a bit of a bummer that the dial doesn't have the "OFFICIALLY CERTIFIED" on the dial (which is odd for this reference number but maybe it's a very early production model or worse a transplant from a different reference).
