I love hummers and think the tuning fork genre is incredibly interesting....from the technical advance at the time to the sweep of that second hand.
To that end, I have aquired an Omega f300 and an Accutron RR 218 and delighted with both.
I am sorely tempted to aquire another Omega f300 which has been serviced and looks great. However, this one is pricey, perhaps reflecting the service, new battery and crystal.
Is there anything I should be checking/concerned about...oiling, copper plates, friction wheel lubrucation or anything else?
Any knowlesable member's thoughts would be appreciated.
Thanks.

I am very fond of tuning fork watches. While they are electric, the technology is differnt from Quartz and has a kind of school / analogue charm. I have a couple of them, a few also sold. I particularly like the Eternasonic.

If you buy from a good seller, who offers a warranty, you should be fine. Just check the same as on mechnical watch, like all functions are operating correct, timekeeping, and of course the originality and condition of dial, hands, case, crown, caseback and movement.

Best,

Stefan

Just to add to the above, the pricing may reflect more than just a service. If the example one is looking at has had the often damaged plastic date wheel replaced (with a new metal part), or repaired or replaced coils then you’re looking at years of trouble-free operation.
And, always ask/check the date wheel turns through every date and note that there is currently no metal replacement wheel for the cal. 1260 day/date models.
