That's a very clever solution....😁

You're better off not selling it and just keeping it for yourself, even solid gold (not plated) mechanical (dramatically more desirable) 1950s era (the most desirable era of Omegas) watches are VERY rarely worth $18,000.

A common battery powered gold plated Deville was one of Omega's cheapest and most difficult to sell of any watches, as even at $180, most people would rather buy a Seiko Monster or 150M diver. I'm sorry if we've sounded very harsh but everyone was a bit shocked when you quoted a price 100 times the actual value.

Until his friend finds out what he could have bought another of those for. 😁

Why do I suspect that the OP was told this watch was worth that ludicrous amount by somebody trying to sell it, and he or she is trying to prove to the seller they're daft?

Anyway, I asked my Magic 8 Ball if this watch was worth $18,000 5 times. It's replies were "DON'T COUNT ON IT", "OUTLOOK NOT SO GOOD", "MY REPLY IS NO", "VERY DOUBTFUL", and "MY SOURCES SAY NO". Not once did it even say to "ASK AGAIN LATER" so that's conclusive proof that the watch is not worth that kind of money.

I have an extremely rare 1970s-1980s Omega seamaster deville that is 10k gold plated. I was informed that this watch was worth over $18,000. To set the minute hand you have to push the crown in. It is for sale on ebay if interested.

Not Happening

Oooooo, that would be a good response to add if they ever update the Magic 8 Ball. Maybe they'll add a little North East flavor to it with something like "Whadami, an asshole?" or "Fuggedaboudit!".

I don't know the point of the OP making another identical post on the same subject, in any event it is double horse beating and I've merged them. There seems no point to this.

For what it is worth, you could put a fairly recent Patrimony or Calatrava on your wrist for $18k and I know which way my money would go 😉

For $18K you could put a near mint VC Malte Grande Classique AND a Breguet 5907 on both wrists. 😉 Probably have enough left to buy a nice Constellation from the 60's too.

Yes but there is not the same watch anywhere. The movement is the unique part of this watch, someone who actually owns this same watch informed me, and since I have not found anybody else on ebay or any other websites who own this watch telling me otherwise, I have to agree with the only person who owns it.
Tell the 'collector' with the same example that you will offer him a crazy deal... offer to sell it to him for less than half of his estimated value, like 6k? Everyone wins.

Reading through the posts, I can't help but wonder if the OP is having some fun at our expense? You know what they say about feeding the troll...

Yes my research indicates a high probability.

Try to find this watch with this movement anywhere you can and you will see that it is very rare, where I can find other 70s and 80s watches with ease.

So list it on eBay for $17,000. I'm sure any collector who is as sure as you are that it's an $18,000 watch will appreciate the thousand dollar discount off market price. 😜

I've been doing some research on this piece, we may all be wrong, I think it may be worth more like $180,000.00.

I also have a pile of shit from my dog I just picked up, I've never seen any quite like it so it must be worth at least $100.00.

😲 I hope you'll pardon me if I wait for the official documentation from our own InvestiGator. 😜

Oh it may be nice, but I bet it can't compare with the stuff Sandy puts out. Grand Luxe Supreme (with heather sprouts) 👍
